Chapter One

Hi there!


My name is Laura and this is my first ever blog post (eek)! I've been wanting to start a blog for a little while now, so actually writing my first post I'll admit is a little scary! I've figured that whatever I write for this post is going to sound cringey so I've decided to just go ahead and write it. I'm sure I will look back at this in a few months and say to myself "what was I thinking!?" However, I think this about twenty times a day so I guess I'm used to it!

I should probably begin my telling you a bit about myself. I apologise in advance for my tendency to ramble and babble - I do it in conversation and this is basically a conversation with myself so like I said, I apologise!

As I have said, my name is Laura. I'm nineteen years old and from a small village in the English county of Cambridgeshire. I am currently a second year student at Newcastle University, studying English Language & Literature. 

One of the reasons as to why I decided to start a blog is that whenever I'm considering buying a new beauty product, I like to google it beforehand and read other blogger's reviews of that particular item. I find it so useful to be able to read the opinions of others before purchasing a product as it can help me to decide whether it is worth spending the money. Therefore, my blog will probably look similar to many other review type blogs that are out there, but I find these very helpful and am hoping to create something that can help others! My huge shopping addiction has left me with an enormous collection of makeup, clothes and shoes, and I thought it would be fun to start blogging about it! I am frequently writing articles for my University newspaper, and I'm hoping that creating blog posts will help me to further develop and expand my writing styles.

In addition to reviewing beauty products, I am also aiming to blog about clothes and outfits. I'd just like to say now, I don't consider myself a fashion expert or anything like that, but over the years I have developed and become comfortable with my own style, and just thought some of you out there may find it interesting if I blog a few outfits or new/favourite items every now and again. I also hope to write about everyday life sort of things, such as places I have visited, starting university, mental health, books and recipes. 

The name of my blog, TallulahSunrise, is a nickname my mum has called me for as long as I can remember. I'm not sure where it originated from, but I love the name and think it is very unique, making it the perfect name for my blog!
